During the recent "student" riots whereby damage was done to various London landmarks and Charles and Camilla's ride to the ball was attacked, there was an "interview" with a group of young boys with their face covered. The main guy said something along the lines of:
"If I don't get EMA, what's stopping me from leaving college and going out and doing drug deals on the street?"
Well...
-At college, you get to pick subjects that you enjoy learning.
-You actually want to learn.
-You can develop "transferable" skills
-You want to meet like-minded people with similar interests.
-You want to meet different people with contrasting interests.
-You want to keep your options open.
-You want to go to university.
-You don't know what you want!
-Drug dealing is dangerous.
-It is not as lucrative as you might initially think.
-It is illegal.
Just some ideas. Feel free to add you're own.
